Value Focus - Term 3 Weeks 1 to 5: Be Curious

At Living Faith Lutheran Primary School, we believe that curiosity is the gateway to deep learning, meaningful discovery and lifelong growth. That’s why, for the first five weeks of Term 3, our school community is focusing on our new value: Be Curious.

In today’s fast-changing world, curiosity is more than just asking questions -it’s a vital 21st-century skill. Research from organisations such as the World Economic Forum highlights curiosity as one of the key attributes students will need to thrive in the future workforce. As industries evolve and technology rapidly advances, the ability to adapt, problem-solve and think creatively will be essential - and curiosity is the driving force behind all of these.

According to a recent study from Harvard Business Review, curious learners are more open to new ideas, less likely to fall into decision-making bias and more resilient in the face of change. In other words, curious students become adaptable, agile adults.

Famed physicist Albert Einstein once said, ‘I have no special talents. I am only passionately curious.’ His words remind us that success often stems not from having all the answers, but from having the desire to keep exploring.

By nurturing curiosity in our students, we empower them to become independent thinkers, responsible global citizens and people who approach God’s world with wonder and care.

We encourage you to look for moments at home to ask ‘I wonder…’ questions with your children, explore new ideas together and celebrate the joy of discovering something new.

Welcome Ms Jaki Graham - Director of Junior Primary

Welcome Ms Jaki Graham

It gives me great pleasure to welcome Ms Jaki Graham to Living Faith. Jaki has been appointed as the new Director of Junior Primary, taking over from Mrs Chelsea Formosa.

Jaki comes to us from The International School of Hamburg where she was the Principal of Early Years and Junior School (3 - 11 year olds). Jaki brings a wealth of international teaching and leadership experience to Living Faith having worked at schools in Switzerland, China, Singapore and Thailand. Jaki began her teaching career in Narraweena in New South Wales and is looking forward to being closer to family in Queensland and to working and living again in Australia. Jaki's leadership experience includes principalship in junior schools; literacy coaching; the development of a wellbeing curriculum; and developing a collaborative culture within her schools.

Jaki is very much looking forward to being in classrooms and supporting learners, teachers and families.

The school also welcomed back Ms Melissa Tronc, Director of Senior Primary, on Monday after she undertook a term of long service leave during Term 2.

Peace
