International Student Visit and Cultural Immersion Program
I am excited to share with our community that Living Faith will be hosting two international primary school groups during Term 3.
Japanese Students
On Monday, 4 and Tuesday, 5 August we will be hosting 30 Japanese students during the school day. These students visit with the purpose of speaking English and learning our culture. A detailed schedule of their time at Living Faith is currently being prepared.
Chinese Students
Concurrently, for two weeks from Monday, 4 August to Friday, 15 August we will be hosting 15 Chinese students. The Chinese students are all between the ages of 6 and 12 and will have two teachers from China accompanying them. They stay with host families (not from the Living Faith community) and these children are greatly looking forward to attending an Australian School. The Immersion Program quite simply sees the students join our classes for two weeks and learn whatever we learn. Our Chinese visitors will have the opportunity to share their culture, language and school experiences with our Living Faith students.
Why a Chinese Immersion Program?
At Living Faith Lutheran Primary School, we believe that intercultural understanding and global awareness are vital components of a well-rounded education. The Chinese Primary School Immersion Program is grounded in our commitment to fostering curiosity, respect and empathy through authentic, hands-on learning experiences.
This two-week immersive program provides students with the opportunity to experience the language, culture and educational practices of China within the familiar and supportive environment of our school. Through a rich variety of interactive lessons, cultural activities and guided exploration, students will engage meaningfully with Mandarin language instruction and traditional and contemporary aspects of Chinese life.
We view this immersion experience not simply as a language program but as a holistic cultural journey - one that encourages students to become open-minded learners, effective communicators and active participants in a globally connected world. Rooted in our Christian values, the program promotes mutual understanding, respect for diversity and the development of compassionate global citizens.
