Be Curious

At Living Faith, we nurture curiosity as the cornerstone of lifelong learning. Our value, Be Curious, encourages students to embrace a sense of wonder, exploration and discovery. We foster an environment where students are empowered to question, explore and develop an insatiable thirst for knowledge that goes beyond the classroom walls.

Learning at Living Faith is not about chalk and talk. Instead, it’s about students actively engaging with their surroundings, where they are encouraged to inquire, discover and find answers for themselves. We believe that the true magic of learning happens when students take ownership of their curiosity and embark on the journey of exploration, not when answers are simply handed to them.

A Culture of Inquiry and Exploration

Learning is an adventure, not just a task. From the early years, we embrace a play-based philosophy, allowing our youngest learners to discover, wonder and engage with their world in ways that spark joy. As students grow, we build on this natural curiosity by incorporating experiential and inquiry-based learning, ensuring that education remains dynamic and hands-on.

We don't limit learning to isolated subjects. Instead, we implement Project-Based Learning (PBL), where each project begins with an open-ended, unGoogleable question. These questions don’t just seek answers; they ignite curiosity and encourage students to embark on journeys of discovery. This approach fosters a deep sense of engagement and ownership over learning, as students not only learn to think critically but also develop a sense of wonder about the world around them.

Beyond the Classroom: Adventures in Learning

Beyond the classroom, we also encourage students to embrace a sense of adventure! Through school camps and excursions, students experience new environments that challenge their thinking and expand their horizons. These experiences help them to build resilience, independence and a deep appreciation for God’s beautiful world.

Fostering Lifelong Learners

At Living Faith, we focus on developing lifelong learners - students who are not just able to learn, but who also crave it. Our goal is to cultivate students who are excited by the process of learning and eager to explore new ideas. We achieve this by fostering curiosity-driven learning, where students feel comfortable questioning, wondering and engaging in open-ended discovery. They learn how to navigate complex concepts by first being given the space to explore them with curiosity.

By focusing on the development of contemporary competencies, we equip students with the skills needed for success in a world that is constantly changing. These competencies include the ability to think critically, embrace open-mindedness and adapt to new challenges. Curiosity fuels these skills, helping students to think outside the box and approach the world with a sense of wonder and possibility.

Keeping the Spark of Curiosity Alive

  • A Question-Driven Curriculum: Instead of simply providing answers, we design learning experiences that spark wonder and invite students to ask questions, explore and seek solutions on their own.
  • Hands-On Exploration: Our approach encourages students to learn through doing - experimenting, investigating and engaging with ideas in ways that provoke curiosity and inspire discovery.
  • Spark: Our Spark program, focusing on Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and some Mathematics (STEAM); offers students opportunities to explore the world through innovation and experimentation, sparking their curiosity in diverse fields.
  • Performing and Visual Arts: From Prep to Year 6, students engage in both performing and visual arts, allowing them to express themselves creatively, explore new ideas and be inspired by the beauty of human expression.
  • Encouraging Open-Mindedness: We create opportunities for students to encounter different perspectives, challenge their assumptions and embrace new ways of thinking, ensuring they remain flexible and open to discovery.

By fostering curiosity, we empower our students to become independent thinkers who are driven by a desire to explore and understand. At Living Faith, we believe that learning should never lose its sense of wonder - it should be an exciting journey of inquiry, discovery and personal growth. Our students don’t just learn facts; they learn how to ask questions, explore new ideas and remain lifelong learners with a passion for discovery. We look forward to seeing our students embrace curiosity, ask bold questions, explore new ideas and ignite their lifelong passion for learning.
