Wellbeing
We don’t wait until something’s going wrong.
Our commitment to wellbeing
For many schools, wellbeing is something that kicks in when a student is struggling. We think it starts much earlier than that.
It starts with someone noticing your child seems a little quieter than yesterday. Remembering they’re nervous about the swimming carnival. Celebrating the maths problem they finally solved. Cheering them on from the sidelines.
At Living Faith, we've intentionally designed our school around relationships, because we know young people are far more likely to do well when they feel deeply known, genuinely supported and confidently themselves.
Wellbeing isn’t a program here. It’s how we do school.
You won’t find ‘wellbeing’ tucked away in an office or delivered during a weekly Chapel service. It’s woven into the everyday life of our College.
From the way our learning spaces encourage connection, to the way the teachers intentionally partner with families, to the opportunities students have to mentor, serve and belong, every part of the Living Faith experience has been designed to help young people flourish.
In fact, it’s such a big part of how we do school that we overstaff this area beyond the minimum headcount so we can be sure that no one gets left behind or overlooked.
Wellbeing in the Primary years
The Primary years are full of firsts: first friendships, first challenges… first moments of independence. That’s why we’ve intentionally created an environment where our Primary kids feel genuinely happy to come to school. Here’s how it works from Prep to Year 6.
Deeply known by staff
Teachers have the time to really get to know every child: their strengths, their challenges, what excites them and where they might need a bit of extra encouragement. It’s how we help every young person feel like they’re an important part of our community.
Intentional classroom design
Each year level is made up of connected classrooms that open up into one bigger learning environment. This allows students to build relationships with different teachers, meet new friends across their cohort and find a special space where they’ll thrive that day.
Partnerships with families
We know your child doesn’t become a different person when they walk through our gates. We work closely with families in all sorts of ways: celebrating progress, creating Individual Learning Plans and quick catch-ups are all ways we ensure that school and home work as a team.
Wellbeing check-ins
Throughout their day, each child has timetabled check-ins to see how they’re going. This ensures our teachers can continue to build relationships with their class and support anyone who might need help regulating their emotions at the start of the day or after break time.
A trusted adult is never far away
At Living Faith, we take a whole-team approach to wellbeing. Teachers, wellbeing mentors, learning support staff, our Head of Faith and Formation… even Webster, our wellbeing dog, all work together so your child feels supported, included and has everything they need to thrive.
Wellbeing in our Secondary years
Secondary school is a time of enormous growth. This is where students really hone in on who they are, what they love and what they want to do after they finish school. As those opportunities grow, so do the challenges they face.
To support them, our wellbeing in Secondary school looks like this:
We’d love to show you around
There’s nothing more important than finding the right school, where your child will feel safe and happy.
