Secondary Learning
Equipping remarkable young people
How Secondary education works at Living Faith.
Starting high school is a big step. Starting at a brand new high school? That’s something special.
Our first students won’t simply be part of Living Faith’s story. They’ll help write it. They’ll establish traditions, shape the culture, build the opportunities and become the leaders future students look up to.
The courage to do things differently.
We haven’t built our secondary school by figuring out what other successful schools are doing and adapting it for local families.
Instead, we’ve gone right back to the start.
We’ve asked, “What do our young people need to flourish in the world they’re going to face?” From there, we’ve intentionally redesigned our curriculum to meet that future.
The result is a different type of learning experience that combines academic rigour with greater choice and real opportunities for students to discover who they’re becoming.
Learning to be enjoyed (not endured).
No two young people are the same, and neither is the way they learn.
That’s the thinking behind our personalised learning journey that’s all about equipping your child.
Mastery: Know it | Bespoke: Use it | Launch: Live it |
|---|---|---|
| Build deep knowledge and strong foundations through explicit teaching, with a focus on literacy, numeracy and core curriculum. | Apply learning through interdisciplinary projects, student choice and authentic problem-solving that connects knowledge to the real world. | Take learning beyond the classroom through real-world experiences where students use their knowledge with confidence, purpose and impact. |
Mastery Subjects
Mastery learning develops the essential knowledge, skills and understandings students need to thrive.
Learning is aligned with the Australian Curriculum and, as students progress, the relevant Senior Syllabuses, ensuring strong disciplinary foundations and clear pathways into senior secondary learning, further study and future opportunities.
Through explicit teaching, quality differentiation and strategic grouping, students are supported and challenged at the right point in their learning. These strong foundations give students the confidence and capability to think deeply, make connections and apply their learning in increasingly sophisticated ways.
Year 7 Bespoke Subjects
Bespoke subjects give students opportunities to apply their Mastery knowledge and understandings through rich, interdisciplinary learning experiences. Students have genuine voice and choice in the contexts they explore, increasing engagement, ownership and personal connection
to their learning.
Guided by an inquiry process, students move beyond understanding what is to imagining what might be, questioning, exploring possibilities, developing original ideas and communicating their thinking with purpose.
Flexible pathways allow students to demonstrate their understanding in different ways, drawing on their strengths while deepening their capacity to think, create and connect learning across disciplines.

Launch Courses
Learning with purpose and impact.
Launch takes learning beyond the classroom and into authentic, real-world contexts where students can put their knowledge, skills and capabilities to meaningful use.
Through entrepreneurial pursuits, industry connections, passion projects and global stewardship, students engage with genuine opportunities, challenges and audiences.
They investigate, design, create, collaborate and contribute, developing increasing independence, agency and responsibility along the way.
Launch helps students recognise their strengths, interests and aspirations, building the confidence and experience to make informed choices about future learning, senior pathways and life beyond school.
Every student has the opportunity to lead
Some schools reserve leadership for a select few in their final year of school. At Living Faith, we provide meaningful opportunities for every student to lead, right throughout their secondary journey.
From mentoring younger students and contributing to Pastoral Care Groups, to leading Houses, Action Groups and community initiatives, we ensure our young people can step up and make a positive difference in the lives of others.
Every remarkable person got their start somewhere
The best way to understand our approach to Secondary education is to experience it for yourself. Come and explore our learning spaces, meet our passionate teachers and discover how Living Faith is equipping the next generation of remarkable young people.
