Academies
Much more than 'extra' curricular.
Performing Arts and Sports Academies
At Living Faith, we believe a great education nurtures the whole person.
A big part of this is fostering the passions within each of our students. That's why we’ve developed two pathways for students to explore these passions as part of their weekly timetable in the secondary school.
Our Academies aren’t an after-school bonus, tacked on to the end of the day (that’s why we don’t consider them ‘extra-curriculars’). Every Wednesday and Thursday afternoon, students have dedicated time to explore their interests, develop their talents and discover more about who they’re becoming.
How our Academies work
Every Wednesday and Thursday afternoon, the timetable shifts. Secondary students will choose how they’d like to spend their Academy time.
They might immerse themselves in the Performing Arts Academy, pursue their sporting goals through the Sports Academy or combine both across the week. As interests grow and change, so can their Academy pathway.
Secondary Timetable
Academy time is on Wednesday and Thursday afternoons after second break.
For the student who...
With two sessions for Academy learning each week, students can choose whether they do Performing Arts on both days, Sport on both days, or a mixture of both. Here's how that looks at Living Faith Lutheran College:
... can't stop creating.
Whether they’re singing, dancing, acting, playing in the band or working behind the scenes, the Performing Arts Academy gives students opportunities to develop their technique, creativity and confidence through productions, showcases and community performances. Along the way, they’ll discover something bigger: the confidence to express themselves, the courage to take creative risks and the joy of sharing their gifts with others.
... is always on the move.
In our Sports Academy, students are challenged to grow not just in skill but in discipline and teamwork. We don’t believe that sporting success is measured on the scoreboard, but in the perseverance, leadership and learning your child is capable of. So if they’re refining their tennis game, building their strength and conditioning or exploring kayaking, the Sports Academy will challenge them to grow in far more than athletic ability.
...doesn't fit neatly into one box.
Some students love performing. Some love sport. Some love both. At Living Faith, they don’t have to choose who they are. Our flexible Academy model means that students can combine Sports and Performing Arts across the week, creating a learning experience that works for them. We know that young people rarely fit into one neat category. Their education shouldn’t have to either.
2027 Academy Options
Academy selections are now open for students entering Year 7 in 2027 at Living Faith Lutheran College. Choose from the following options:
Help your child find their ‘thing’
We haven’t created our Academies to produce professional athletes or Broadway stars… although we’ll certainly cheer those dreams on! We’ve created them because we believe that every young person deserves an opportunity to discover what they’re passionate about.
And for students who discover something they love, our Academies can open the door to what's next. Whether that's representative sport, elite development programs or further study and careers in the creative and performing arts, students are supported to keep exploring where their passions might take them.
And that’s exactly the kind of education we want to offer.
