Pastoral Care

We recognize the different facets that make up each person – their social, emotional, physical, academic and spiritual being. We contribute to this development by providing educational programmes that build on each of these

I think that it’s great that Living Faith encourages people to believe in God.

While the provision of education is the core role of a school, we know that children are more able to learn if their social, emotional and spiritual needs are met.

Classroom teachers seek to provide an environment in which children’s social and emotional needs are recognized. A part time chaplain (funded under the Australian Government’s chaplaincy program) is available to provide individual counselling for students, as well as preparing a range of support material for parents.

The Pastor of Living Faith congregation is also available to families of the school should they require the services of the church. The baptism of students in our school worship services is just one example of this.

We seek to involve children themselves in the management of their social and emotional needs. When relationships between children break down, restorative justice conversations led by trained staff allow both parties the opportunity to give their side of the story and where appropriate to be involved in the setting of consequences. Forgiveness and the chance to try again allow children the opportunity to learn from their actions and move on.
