The Arts: Music and Drama

The music program from Prep to Year 6 is intended to bring the joy of music education to everyone.  Sequenced and age appropriate musical experiences aim to educate not only the eye but the ear.  Within the program students build musical literacy by incorporating games, movement, playing instruments, reading and writing music with singing.

The children are also exposed to classroom percussion instruments, glockenspiel, recorder and guitar. Private lessons in stringed and band instruments, piano and guitar are available from Year 3.

Classroom lessons complement the compulsory choir programme for Years 3 to 6, which builds the necessary skills to work as a team to sing and perform publicly.

What I like about Living Faith is that we get opportunities to sing in a choir and have choice to play band or orchestra instruments

All year levels participate in a term of drama lessons, building self confidence and skills in public performance.
