The school offers a sound formal academic program. Curriculum materials from the Queensland Department of Education provide the framework for instruction. All materials are presented according to our Christian philosophy. Each class also has regular sessions devoted to Christian Studies, using a curriculum specifically developed for Lutheran schools.
Children receive a thorough grounding in the traditional subjects with special emphasis on Mathematics and English. Music, Physical Education and German are included in the curriculum at all levels, including Prep. Technology is integrated across the curriculum and each classroom is equipped with its own interactive whiteboard.
We recognise that all children are individuals, each with their own unique path of learning. Support for students with learning difficulties, as well as extension classes, is provided.
EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
:
- Living Faith School is proud to be able to offer students a variety of extra-curricular opportunities.
- All students from Year 3-6 have lesons in choir and then have the opportunity to participate in school performances.
- Private lessons in piano and guitar are available at the school. An instrumental music program, including band, is available to students from Year 4 onwards. A Strings program is available for Year 3 students.
- Excursions and camps are planned to enhance the learning and development of our students and are an integral part of the school program. As such, all children are expected to attend unless there are medical reasons which prohibit their involvement. Where this is the case, parents must seek approval from the Principal for their child's non-attendance.
- Our sporting program includes inter-house swimming and athletics carnivals, and participation in sporting competitions with local schools as well as other Lutheran schools.
- Students from Prep to Year 2 participate in a Perceptual Motor Skills programme, designed to develop both fine and gross motor skills.
